NFL Draft 2024: How Adisa Isaac Boosts Baltimore Ravens’ Pass-Rush

The Baltimore Ravens selected former Penn State edge rusher Adisa Isaac on Friday night, in the third-Round of the 2024 NFL Draft, adding a productive pass-rush presence to the front seven.

Isaac, 6-foot-4 and 250 pounds, arrives in Baltimore after the most prolific season of his collegiate career, posting a career-best 7.5 sacks with 16 tackles for loss, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery, and 37 total tackles.

In Baltimore, Isaac joins fellow former Nittany Lion Odafe Oweh, and walks into a disruptive pass-rush along the Ravens’ front-seven.

Across four seasons in Happy Valley, Isaac logged 14.5 sacks, 31.5 tackles for loss, and 92 total tackles, while forcing two fumbles and recovering one.

Isaac was a bit overshadowed during his career at Penn State, by first-round pick Chop Robinson, but has been one of the Big Ten’s most consistently productive edge rushers the past two seasons.

“He’s a little light,” an AFC Regional Scout told NFL.com of Isaac. “But, I really like the competitiveness and how he never gives the tackles a break. He’s always through the whistle.”

Meanwhile, Pro Football Focus points out that Isaac posted an elite 11.4 percent run-stop rate, while garnering an 82.4 run-defense grade and 72.9 pass-rush mark from the outlet.

“As a pass-rusher,” the Bleacher Report Scouting Department writes of Isaac. “The former Nittany Lion has a decent rip move and can use his agility to be an effective looper on line games. He’s also shown flashes of winning with power by using a long arm, but his hand placement is off to win consistently. Generally speaking, his use of hands when rushing needs a lot of work.

“Overall, Isaac is a project who can be developed into a solid starter as a standup outside linebacker on a team that uses a lot of odd fronts.”
